How Authors can Maximize Publicity on their Website.
When you’re ready to start thinking about writing press releases and articles to promote your book, screenplay or songs you must know what your message is.
Most authors create a website based on their name or the types of books they are writing, some have a website for each book title. I went the route of using my name, I knew I would be writing a lot of books and thought that would be the most effective for me.
Check out some of your favorite authors or book websites and see how they do it, look at the home page of those websites and try to figure out what their message is. For an example go to my webpage www.michelledunn.com when you get there the first thing you see is my picture, and the name of my website, Michelle Dunn Online. The next things you see are the words “What can Michelle Dunn Online do for you?” Notice I immediately give you, my visitor the information on what benefits my website and books can have for you, your message should tell your target audience what you can do for them. Don’t tell them how great you think you or your books are; tell them how they can benefit from being at your website or reading your books.
If you remember that your message is how your target audience or customers can benefit by what you have to offer you will be successful.
